I would've thought a few more may have been guessed (Beatles & Cat Empire), but I guess my taste in music is just weird :p In other news, it's almost end of the Uni term, which means swatvac & exams coming up. Which ALSO therefore means more music (I have 13 tracks now, I'll start tidying them up & making actual versions) as well as programming (hopefully the modnar sport page will be done soon, and I'll have my own java server - War Plan and all :p)

Amazing news in from Microsoft: That's right, a P2P chat application with NO code written by the user at all. I was struck by two thoughts - (a) Is Microsoft just telling a big fib, and (b) is it a good thing that P2P apps can be written with no code? Sounds good - part 1

I've spent a bit of time recently on one particular coding project of mine: Go-Sound , which is a library for sound manipulation and analysis written in Golang. When explaining it to people however, it turns out that not many people know how sounds work - indeed, I didn't until recently - which is interesting as it's something we use all the time (statistically, you're probably hearing something while reading this) but don't really know much about. This post is an introduction to the library, but also hopefully serves as a tutorial about what sound actually is. Sound = changing pressure When you hear a sound, what are you actually sensing? Sound waves are actually changes in pressure that are picked up by your eardrum.
